Lapid Issues Sharp Criticism of Netanyahu
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Al-Nashra via Mehr News agency, Yair Lapid, leader of the Israeli opposition, accused Benjamin Netanyahu of obstructing efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement.
Lapid emphasized that Netanyahu views Israel’s presence at the “Morag” axis (between Khan Yunis and Rafah) as essential to Israel’s survival, despite it being a tactical operational move.
He added he hopes Netanyahu’s meeting with US President Donald Trump will lead to a prisoner exchange deal, noting Washington places high importance on this issue and that continued war currently holds no benefit for Israel.
The opposition leader further stated that unless someone is found to administer the Gaza Strip,Israel will not be able to free itself from Hamas.He called for withdrawing from Gaza and establishing a buffer zone to ensure security in areas adjacent to Gaza.
