Netanyahu: There Is a Good Opportunity for a Ceasefire in Gaza

Israel’s Prime Minister expressed optimism about reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, stating: We are ‌discussing a 60-day truce during which half of the prisoners, both ⁤alive and deceased, will be returned.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency via Al Jazeera, Israeli Prime Minister benjamin Netanyahu told fox News that he believes there is a strong chance for a 60-day ceasefire in gaza that will‍ bring Israel closer to its objectives.

Without mentioning recent deadly ambushes by resistance fighters against Israeli ⁣forces in Gaza, Netanyahu said: “We are discussing ‍a 60-day ceasefire during which half of the prisoners-both living and deceased-will be returned. ‌This ceasefire brings us closer to our original goal of ‌recovering all prisoners without surrender.”‍ He added that through military and political pressure, Israel has already secured the⁤ return of 205 prisoners, including ⁢148 alive. He noted that 20 live prisoners and the bodies of 30 remain in Gaza, emphasizing Israel’s commitment to retrieving ‍all of them.

Netanyahu continued: “Likely within ⁢these 60 days, we will distribute aid through our own⁢ systems as well as via‍ the United Nations. We do not intend to abandon what we started-direct aid distribution‍ to civilians without Hamas interference. We will rid ourselves of Hamas and ensure that Gaza no longer poses any threat to us.”

Ignoring israel’s current political turmoil and economic difficulties caused by his own actions aimed at⁤ personal gain, Netanyahu claimed he is exploring reopening energy markets along with dialog and trade routes across the Middle East.

He explained that Israel is considering opening trade corridors linking ⁣Asia and Europe through the Arabian Peninsula directly‍ to Israel.

These remarks come amid Netanyahu’s visit to the United States where reports indicate he faces intense pressure from former ⁤President Trump to end hostilities‌ against Gaza.
