US and Chinese Foreign Ministers Hold Talks
the U.S. Department of State announced a meeting between its Secretary of State, Rubio, and his chinese counterpart. According to webangah News Agency quoting Mehr News Agency via Al Jazeera,Rubio emphasized the importance of keeping dialog channels open during this talk.
The U.S. Department of State described the discussions as constructive.
Simultaneously occurring, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that both ministers agreed on the necessity to manage differences and expand areas of cooperation.
The Chinese ministry’s statement noted that its foreign minister expressed hope Washington would adopt a rational approach toward Beijing.
During the meeting, China’s foreign minister also voiced hope that Washington would pay attention to the principle of peaceful coexistence in its policies.
