US Envoy Intervenes in Lebanon’s Internal Affairs and Hezbollah’s Arms

According⁤ to the English⁢ section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News agency via Russia Al-Youm, Tom Barrett, the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, addressed the issue of the resistance’s weapons and those of Lebanon’s Hezbollah. He stated that the American president’s patience on⁤ this matter is limited.

Barrett added that if Lebanon’s‍ government and parliament reach an agreement with Hezbollah on disarming heavy weapons used by the resistance, it would‌ be⁤ a positive progress. He emphasized that arms capable of ⁣targeting Israel must be relinquished.

He‌ further ​warned‍ about a potential civil war in Lebanon if these issues are not resolved.

Barrett had previously conditioned ⁤Israel’s withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories on Hezbollah disarming its weapons.
