Lavrov Holds Talks with North Korean Foreign Minister
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik via Mehr News Agency, Russia’s Foreign Ministry today released a statement regarding Sergei Lavrov’s meeting wiht North Korea’s foreign minister. Lavrov discussed bilateral relations and plans for future contacts during the meeting.
The Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement saeid that the two ministers exchanged views on developments in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia. Moscow and Pyongyang emphasized their commitment to diplomatic solutions for issues related to the peninsula.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry had announced that Lavrov met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his visit.
The ministry noted that this meeting took place in Wonsan, a port city in North Korea.
Lavrov arrived in pyongyang last night for a three-day visit. He began by praising North korean soldiers deployed in the Kursk region for their role in liberating it from Ukrainian control.
