Mahathir Mohamad: America Threatens Opponents of Genocide in Gaza
On the occasion of his 100th birthday, Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, strongly condemned the West and the United States for their stance on Israeli attacks in Gaza. Speaking to webangah News Agency from Anadolu Agency via Mehr News Agency, he stated: “The United states threatens anyone who tries to stop the genocide in Gaza. This is a sign of the collapse of Western civilization.”
Mahathir emphasized: “Naturally, when confronted with a great injustice like genocide, action must be taken. However, because this genocide is backed by a power like the United States, no one can do anything.”
The former prime minister pointed out that moral values are fading among Western leaders and said they now exhibit “primitive behavior,” adding that America has never been a model for human rights or humanitarianism worldwide.
He also criticized the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for its inability to take effective action regarding Palestine. He noted that as long as full agreement among members does not exist, the organization cannot act decisively and disagreements will persist-even when dealing with Israel.
