EU Delays Tariff Retaliation Against the United States
European Commission President announces the EU will delay retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports until early next month.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced today, Sunday, that Brussels will postpone imposing retaliatory tariffs on imports from the United States until early August.
Von der Leyen stated that the European commission does not want to implement its planned retaliatory measures against the U.S. trade dispute starting Monday as initially scheduled.
She added that the EU intends to wait and see if a deal remains possible despite President Donald Trump’s recent decision to raise tariffs on imports from the European Union.
This comes after Trump threatened Saturday to increase tariffs on EU imports by 30 percent.
