IAEA Report: Shooting Incident at Europe’s Largest Nuclear Power Plant
Teh Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency announced that the agency’s team reported gunfire at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and the International Atomic Energy Agency’s website, reported that Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, announced on Sunday that the agency’s team at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) heard sounds of small arms fire last night.This is the latest sign of military activity posing a potential threat to nuclear safety and security.
According to the IAEA website, team members reported an unusual number of shots fired repeatedly from 10 p.m. local time for about an hour.
Meanwhile, Zaporizhzhia remains Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
