Netanyahu Angered by Zionists’ Call to Halt the War
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Information Center,Benjamin Netanyahu,Israel’s Prime Minister who is under international judicial investigation,criticized on Sunday the release of polls showing that most Israelis support a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.
Israel’s Channel 13 quoted Netanyahu saying that such polls, which show majority support for an agreement, fail to ask respondents whether they want Hamas to remain in Gaza.
He claimed these surveys mislead Israeli public opinion.
The prime minister also accused Israeli media of blaming him for obstructing efforts toward a prisoner swap while repeating Hamas propaganda.
The Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz reported that Netanyahu attacked both polling results and certain news channels. According to Haaretz, his remarks came in response to a poll published several days ago by Channel 12 within Israeli society.
The survey found that 74 percent believe israel should end its war on Gaza “all at once” in exchange for the return of captive Israelis.Tel Aviv estimates there are about 50 Israeli captives held in Gaza, with approximately 20 still alive. Simultaneously occurring, more than 10,800 Palestinians are imprisoned by Israel and suffer from torture, hunger, and medical neglect-conditions human rights groups along with Palestinian and Israeli media report have led many detainees to die as an inevitable result.
