Moscow: Kyiv Not Rushing Negotiations; Arms Shipments to Ukraine Continue

The Kremlin ⁤spokesperson ‍states ⁤that Russia is ready too resume talks with Ukraine, but Kyiv clearly shows no ⁤urgency.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, referred to two‌ rounds of direct negotiations‌ between Russia and Ukraine held in Istanbul and noted that Kyiv appears reluctant ‍to set a date for a third ⁤round.

Peskov said, “It ⁢is‌ indeed clear that⁢ Kyiv is in no hurry. We are still waiting for proposals regarding the timing of the talks. Russia is prepared to continue and hold ⁣the third round of negotiations.”

Regarding former U.S. President Donald Trump’s⁤ decision to provide Patriot air defense ⁣systems to Ukraine, Peskov added: “it now seems that⁣ Europe will pay for this equipment; however, some costs will⁣ be covered while others ‌will not.”

He⁣ continued, “The reality ‍remains that arms, ammunition, and‌ military ⁢equipment supplies ⁣from the⁤ United States to Ukraine have⁣ been ongoing ‍and will continue.”

Axios quoted‌ two informed sources reporting that Trump is expected ⁣to⁢ announce Washington’s plan to supply “offensive”‍ weapons to Ukraine-an approach sharply contrary to his initial stance.
