Medvedev: Russia Rejects Trump’s ‘Show Deadline

Russia’s Deputy Security Council Chief says the‍ country will ignore the symbolic ‌deadline set⁣ by the U.S. president.

According to the English section‍ of webangah News​ Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, Dmitry Medvedev, ⁣Deputy Chairman of Russia’s⁣ Security Council,⁢ addressed the 50-day ⁣deadline imposed by ⁣U.S. President Donald Trump on Russia ​for reaching a peace agreement with Ukraine, emphasizing that ‌Moscow disregards​ these ultimatums.

In a⁢ message posted on the social media platform X, Medvedev wrote: ⁢”Trump issued a theatrical deadline to⁢ the Kremlin. The world waited anxiously‌ for its consequences. Hostile Europe was disappointed as Russia paid no attention.”

Medvedev is the first⁢ senior⁣ Russian⁣ official to respond ‍publicly to Trump’s ​remarks from yesterday.

Yesterday, Trump announced​ that Washington will continue supplying weapons​ and military‌ equipment to ⁢Ukraine as long as Europe finances it. He said NATO would coordinate⁣ these efforts and warned ‌that if Russia fails to reach a peace‌ deal with Ukraine within 50 days, the U.S. would​ impose 100 percent tariffs against Moscow and its ⁣trading⁣ partners.
