Tel Aviv Alarmed by Iran and China’s Military Support to Egypt: “The Equation Is Changing
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, the Israeli magazine Epoch reported that israel is concerned about Egypt’s growing military strength, particularly in air defense and missile systems.
The report stated that Israeli officials expressed these concerns during a closed-door meeting with senior US representatives.They highlighted fears over Chinese-and even Iranian-support for Egypt’s missile technology sector, including both defensive and offensive systems.
Furthermore, Tel Aviv is reportedly worried about egypt’s development of ballistic missiles and advanced interception systems. These advancements could shift the regional balance of power and potentially threaten US bases in the area.
Recently, Egypt approved the acquisition and deployment of Chinese HQ-9B air defense systems. Danon Danyoon, Israel’s representative to the United Nations, also voiced apprehension regarding Egypt’s expanding military capabilities.
