After 3 Days of Urban Warfare, Jolani Regime Claims Ceasefire in Suwayda
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the Defense Minister of the Julani terrorist regime announced a ceasefire in Suwayda, located in southern Syria, following an agreement with prominent local figures.
Hours earlier, after spiritual leader Hikmat al-Hajiri declared the city’s surrender, Julani-affiliated forces entered Suwayda without notable resistance.
Hikmat al-Hajiri, spiritual leader of Syria’s Druze community, stated: “We welcome the entry of Ministry of Interior and Defense forces to establish control over Suwayda. We call on groups stationed in this city not to resist and to hand over their weapons to the Ministry of Interior.”
He had previously vowed not to remain silent in response to atrocities committed against Druze residents. It is vital to note that intense armed clashes between Druze fighters and tribes affiliated with the Julani terrorist regime over three days resulted in more than 100 fatalities and 200 injuries.
