Explosion Rocks Oil Field in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region
This morning, an explosion at the Sarsang oil field in Duhok province, located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, shook the area, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters.
The explosion has halted oil extraction operations at the site. Engineers have reported that the blast triggered a fire in the area. Firefighting teams are currently working to control the blaze.
The cause of the explosion remains unknown. Yesterday, several suicide drones targeted Erbil International Airport within the Kurdistan Region.
Additionally, Iraqi KurdistanS joint operations announced that two unidentified drones struck oil facilities in Khurmala near Makhmur district west of Erbil province yesterday.
