Fourth Suicide in Israeli Army Within Less Than Two Weeks
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, reported that the Israeli newspaper Haaretz announced another suicide attempt by an Israeli soldier from the paratroopers brigade.
The report states that the soldier attempted suicide by shooting himself at a military base in southern occupied territories.
The source noted that although this soldier was rescued,his physical condition is critical.
This marks the fourth suicide incident within less than two weeks in the Israeli army.
Haaretz recently reported a significant increase in suicide rates among soldiers during their military service compared to previous years.
The newspaper added that at least 15 Israeli soldiers have committed suicide since early 2025, even though only half of the year has passed. In comparison,21 soldiers died by suicide throughout all of 2024.
According to this report, most soldiers who take their own lives are reservists currently involved in fighting in Gaza.
Haaretz quoted military sources indicating that many soldiers facing combat experience situations and conditions during war that heavily impact their mental health and well-being.
