Jumblatt Warns Syrians to Beware of Israeli Subversion
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Walid Jumblatt, former head of Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Druze Party, emphasized in an interview with Al-Mayadeen network the importance of achieving a political solution in Suwayda province. He stressed the need to prevent sectarian strife and counter provocations by the Israeli regime in this region.
As a leading Druze political figure in Lebanon, Jumblatt stated that establishing a ceasefire requires withdrawal of the Syrian army and entrusting security responsibilities to local residents.
He also called on Suwayda inhabitants to remain alert to attempts at incitement by Israel, noting that “the best solution is a political one guaranteed by the Syrian government.”
Sheikh Nasr al-Din al-Gharib,spiritual leader and Druze sheikh of wisdom in Lebanon,condemned recent crimes against people in Suwayda. He identified those behind these acts as proxies for both the United States and Israel.
He described attacks on mosques and churches as aimed at undermining Syria’s resistance identity and heritage. Sheikh al-Gharib called for an end to these actions and advocated for unified national stances to prevent country fragmentation.
