New Tensions in Syria: SDF Movements Raise Risk of Clashes with Jolani Forces
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, local sources in Raqqa province reported meaningful military activity by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in and around the city.
Sources added that extensive military equipment has been dispatched by SDF elements to their main headquarters in central Raqqa. Their patrols within city neighborhoods have also increased.
New checkpoints have been established on roads leading into Raqqa. Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunfire in the area. There are reports of a possible clash between these two groups.
Meanwhile, in As-Suwayda in southern Syria, severe fighting erupted on Sunday between tribes loyal to Julani and druze forces, resulting in more than 200 fatalities.
