Power Cut in Zelensky’s Hometown Following Russia’s ‘Unprecedented’ Attack

Russia’s extensive ​drone and missile attack on⁢ the hometown of Ukraine’s president caused power outages ⁢in several parts of the‍ city.

According to​ the ‌English section of ‌ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News‍ Agency and‌ Kyiv Post, a large-scale Russian drone and missile strike early today ⁣targeted Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President​ Volodymyr Zelensky. The ⁢assault cut electricity to parts of the city.

officials in kryvyi Rih, located in central Ukraine, reported that the city endured combined ​Russian attacks involving ballistic missiles and drones. Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city’s defense council, ‍described today’s​ attack as “unprecedented.”

He stated: “We have never seen anything like this ​before; a ballistic missile ​along with⁤ 28 drones. An industrial complex was destroyed‌ but no⁢ one ⁣was killed.Workers were⁤ sheltering at the time.”

Elsewhere, Vinnytsia,‌ another city in central Ukraine, suffered a heavy nighttime drone attack. Officials claim at least eight people⁤ were injured during this strike.

The attacks ⁢come amid an intensification of Russian air strikes across Ukraine. ⁤Over the⁣ past two months, Moscow has launched ​more than 500 drones daily against Ukrainian targets-most occurring at night.On July 9th (June 28), Kyiv reported an unprecedented assault ‍involving‌ 741 drones in ⁣a single night.

The⁤ escalation coincides with U.S. President⁢ Donald Trump’s announcement on Monday that NATO will supply Kyiv with Patriot air defense systems and other weapons⁤ purchased from Washington⁣ under an⁢ agreement between Washington and NATO. Trump also warned ‍Moscow that if‌ it ‍does ​not reach a⁢ peace deal with Kyiv within 50 days, Russia will face 100⁤ percent tariffs-including those imposed on its trading partners.
