Moscow Calls for Increased Pressure on Kyiv to Hold Third Negotiation Round

The Kremlin spokesperson says the Russian side urges all its partners to pressure Kyiv⁢ to hold the next round of talks with Moscow.

According to the English ⁢section of webangah News Agency, citing ⁤Mehr News Agency and TASS, Kremlin spokesperson ⁢Dmitry peskov called for increased‍ pressure on Kyiv to facilitate the upcoming ​negotiations with Moscow.

Peskov stated, “We ask everyone to take such action. Mediation efforts,mainly by the United States,former President Donald Trump,and others involved,play‍ an significant and central role in this process.Even though there ‌have recently ⁢been various‌ statements expressing⁣ disappointment, fortunately this has been accompanied by⁢ some ⁢pressure on‍ the ⁢Ukrainian side.”

Asked whether Moscow should‌ seek​ assistance from its partners ​in this⁣ matter, he​ replied, “As I have said before, ‍so far it seems ⁣that Kyiv⁢ interprets all support it receives not as a sign toward peace⁣ but rather as encouragement for continuing⁢ the war.”

The second round ⁣of direct talks between Russia and⁢ Ukraine took ‍place in early June in Istanbul. During those⁤ negotiations, both sides exchanged a draft memorandum outlining their approaches to ⁤different aspects⁤ of the⁣ conflict. ⁢Moscow and Kyiv also agreed on exchanging “all” prisoners who are seriously ill or under 25 years old.
