U.S. Secretary of State’s Claim on Syria
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that all parties involved in the Syrian conflict have entered negotiations and agreed on specific steps. He stated this will bring an end tonight to the worrying and horrific situation.
Rubio added that this requires all parties to fulfill their commitments and emphasized that they are expected to adhere to these obligations.
This comes while Hikmat al-Hajri, the spiritual leader of Syria’s Druze community, declared today, Wednesday, that there is no agreement or negotiation with the Syrian government.
The Druze spiritual leader stressed their determination to continue fighting untill the entire Suwayda province is liberated from regime control.
In his remarks yesterday, al-Hajri stated that a disgraceful statement was forced upon him and that Druze people in Syria face war and slaughter.
In a video message posted by this Druze official, he said: “The previous statement was issued under pressure from Damascus and foreign countries. The negotiations with Damascus were neither fruitful nor sincere. Despite releasing this humiliating declaration, attacks against civilians continued. Today we stand with all Syrians and refuse humiliation; otherwise, we will live under disgrace for decades. Everyone must take a dignified stance today so it is recorded in history. We must resist these brutal attacks.”
