Dasilva to Trump: I Take Orders from No Foreigner

Brazilian President rejects Trump’s tariff battle, stating: I take no orders from a foreigner.

According to ⁤the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Reuters and Mehr News Agency, Luiz Inácio Lula da⁢ Silva, President of Brazil, condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff ⁢measures and declared‍ that⁤ he would not take orders from any foreign leader regarding tariffs.

Lula described the U.S. threats of ‌tariffs as “unacceptable⁣ extortion”⁣ and announced ⁣Brazil’s readiness‍ to respond reciprocally.

This statement came in response ⁢to the recent announcement of a 50 percent‍ U.S. tariff on Brazilian goods scheduled ‌to begin⁢ in‌ August.

Trump‌ linked these tariffs to ‌Brazil’s ⁣treatment of former president Jair Bolsonaro-often referred to as “the Trump of Brazil”-as⁢ well as⁤ what he called unfair trade practices against American⁤ companies.

The‍ tariff announcement followed Lula’s earlier remarks labeling Trump as⁣ an ”empire” that the world does not want.
