Monsoon Rains in Pakistan Leave 178 Dead and 290 Injured
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and The Independant, at least 178 people have lost their lives across Pakistan over the past three weeks due to ongoing monsoon rains.
The relentless flooding has destroyed numerous homes and displaced thousands of residents, the report states.
pakistani officials confirmed that at least 63 fatalities occurred in Punjab province alone. Most victims were trapped under collapsed buildings, while others drowned or suffered fatal electric shocks.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan announced that over 85 children are among the dead.
Anatolia News agency reported that at least 290 people sustained injuries in these incidents.
Media outlets indicate that government rescue efforts to assist those affected by the floods are ongoing.
