Kremlin: NATO’s Hostile Approach Forces Russia to Take Measures
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing RIA Novosti via Mehr News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian presidential Office (Kremlin), announced on Friday that the new European union sanctions against Russia must be carefully analyzed to minimize their impact. He described the sanctions as a double-edged sword and noted a consistent anti-Russian policy coming from Europe.
Peskov added that moscow opposes unilateral restrictions but has now learned to adapt to them.
He emphasized that NATO is an instrument of confrontation with a hostile approach toward Russia. This hostility compels Russia to take measures guaranteeing its own security.
Peskov commented on Ukrainian President Zelensky’s remarks about strengthening negotiations as a positive sign, stating that Russia seeks dynamic talks with Ukraine.
The Kremlin spokesperson also noted ongoing tough efforts to move relations between Russia and the United States beyond their currently bleak state. He stressed that resolving the Ukraine crisis and normalizing Russo-American relations are separate issues.
