George Abdallah: Mobilizing My Supporters Is Key to My Release

Lebanese activist imprisoned in French prisons says pressure from supporters forced the French government to ⁢release ⁣him.

According to ⁣the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen, George Abdallah, a Lebanese activist who has spent over ⁣40 years in‌ French prisons and is now on⁢ the verge of release, stressed that mounting pressure‌ from his supporters compelled the French judiciary to free ‍him.

Speaking⁣ during ⁤a meeting with André Torrina, a ⁣representative of the radical left party “France Insoumise,” Abdallah stated that time behind bars holds no meaning for political prisoners. Weather imprisoned for five or 40 years does ‍not influence their eventual release.

Abdallah attributed his imminent freedom to widespread activism by his supporters. He emphasized that mobilizing men and women outside prison is essential for securing the release of ⁤political detainees.

The French judiciary finally ordered⁢ Abdallah’s release yesterday after 41 years in detention. throughout this period, both the United States and⁤ the Israeli regime exerted important pressure on France to ‌prevent ‍his freedom.

George Abdallah is scheduled for release on ⁢July 25; though, concerns ⁢remain over ongoing efforts aimed at blocking his liberation.
