Lebanon’s Druze Strongly Oppose Seeking Aid from Tel Aviv
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting MAAN, Sami Abi Al-Muni, the Druze Sheikh of Lebanon, emphasized yesterday during a meeting of the religious council in Beirut that requests for help from Israel by Druze factions in As-Suwayda, Syria, are unacceptable. He stated that such actions threaten their history and identity.
He added that thay oppose any separatist or divisive moves within Syria.
Abi Al-Muni’s remarks refer to recent calls made by some Druze groups in As-Suwayda amid ongoing clashes in the area over past days.
The violence began last Sunday between local tribes and Druze forces in As-Suwayda and escalated with the involvement of armed militants affiliated with the terrorist regime led by Jolani. Hundreds have been killed or injured so far in these confrontations.
Abi Al-Muni condemned attacks on Sunni brothers in As-Suwayda and held the current Syrian government responsible for restoring order to this situation.
It is worth noting that Israel seeks to exploit these tensions by announcing support for Syrian Druze communities and attempting to separate their homeland from Syria amid this turmoil.
