Jumblatt: Syria Developments Mark Start of Prolonged Crisis
According to teh English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen, Walid Jumblatt, former leader of the Druze Progressive Socialist Party in Lebanon, stressed that the ongoing developments in Suwayda, Syria signal the start of a prolonged crisis.
He added that the Jabal al-Arab region in Suwayda is an inseparable part of Syria. A ceasefire must be declared to initiate dialog within Syria.
Jumblatt urged the formation of a fact-finding committee regarding recent events in Syria and actions taken against residents and tribes in that area.
He also condemned Israel’s daily aggression against both Syria and Lebanon.
The crimes committed by the terrorist group led by Jolani in Suwayda’s Druze province have once again provided pretext for Israeli forces to escalate their activities inside Syria and advance objectives such as fragmenting the country.
In recent days, Israeli occupiers launched multiple airstrikes on areas in southern Syria. These intense attacks even reached Damascus and targeted two sensitive government sites-the Presidential Palace and Army Headquarters.
