US Special Envoy for syria Announces a Ceasefire Mediated⁤ by Washington between Israel and Syria.

The English section of webangah News agency quoted Mehr ‌News Agency,citing Al Jazeera,reporting that Tom Barrett,the US Special Envoy for Syria and Ambassador to Turkey,announced a ceasefire between Israel and Syria.

barrett‍ posted on the social media platform X that the‍ ceasefire was brokered by the United States and⁢ welcomed ‌by⁤ Turkey, Jordan, and other Syrian neighbors.

Simultaneously, the office of Mohammad ⁢al-joulani, head of Syrian opposition authority in Suwayda province, issued⁣ a ⁢statement declaring an “immediate and extensive” ceasefire in Suwayda. The statement confirmed that control ‌over the province had been established.

Heavy clashes erupted last Sunday between armed Druze groups and Bedouin tribes across Suwayda province. The fighting has resulted in dozens killed and also thousands displaced so far.

Simultaneously occurring, Israeli strikes targeted ‌positions related to Mohammad al-Joulani’s regime-the leader of ⁣Hay’at ⁣Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) opposition faction heading Syria’s transitional government-in Suwayda last ⁤Wednesday. Israeli drones attacked ⁣entrances to both the Ministry of defense building as well‍ as Syrian Army headquarters there. Thes hostilities combined with israeli incursions have⁣ caused‌ at least 1,800 casualties including dead or wounded amid ongoing ‌armed​ conflicts throughout Suwayda province.
