US Claims Ceasefire Established in Syria
The English section of webangah News agency quoted Mehr News Agency,citing Al Jazeera,reporting that Tom Barrett,the US Special Envoy for Syria and Ambassador to Turkey,announced a ceasefire between Israel and Syria.
barrett posted on the social media platform X that the ceasefire was brokered by the United States and welcomed by Turkey, Jordan, and other Syrian neighbors.
Simultaneously, the office of Mohammad al-joulani, head of Syrian opposition authority in Suwayda province, issued a statement declaring an “immediate and extensive” ceasefire in Suwayda. The statement confirmed that control over the province had been established.

Ceasefire Agreement Terms Between al-Joulani’s Government and Druze Groups in Suwayda
- The entry of governmental administrative and security agencies into Suwayda province;
- The integration of Suwayda group members into Ministries of Security and Defense with commitments to cooperate alongside other units in maintaining order;
- The surrendering of heavy and medium weapons held by Bedouins and Druze factions;
- The future political integration of druze communities as part of subsequent stages;
- A safe passage offered for those rejecting the agreement wishing to leave Syria;
- Punishment under law for violators from both sides;
- An obligation for members from various groups within Suwayda to collaborate with security units in preserving internal provincial stability.
Heavy clashes erupted last Sunday between armed Druze groups and Bedouin tribes across Suwayda province. The fighting has resulted in dozens killed and also thousands displaced so far.
Simultaneously occurring, Israeli strikes targeted positions related to Mohammad al-Joulani’s regime-the leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) opposition faction heading Syria’s transitional government-in Suwayda last Wednesday. Israeli drones attacked entrances to both the Ministry of defense building as well as Syrian Army headquarters there. Thes hostilities combined with israeli incursions have caused at least 1,800 casualties including dead or wounded amid ongoing armed conflicts throughout Suwayda province.
