Liberman Admits Significant Damage from Iranian Missile Attacks on Israel
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Times of Israel, Avigdor Lieberman, former Israeli Defense Minister, warned about Iran’s missile capabilities and Tehran’s potential preemptive strike on Tel Aviv. He acknowledged that Iran inflicted considerable damage on Israel using just 26 ballistic missiles.
Lieberman claimed that after the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, Tehran is now “obsessed” with revenge. He reiterated threats from the israeli regime, asserting that Tel Aviv would be forced to launch another attack against Iran at some point.
Referring to Israeli and U.S. strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, Lieberman stated: “I can share what intelligence assessments and officials have said regarding Iran’s nuclear capability; all agree that rebuilding the Iranian nuclear program would take one to two years.”
This claim contrasts with U.S. President Donald Trump’s assertion that American attacks had wholly destroyed Iran’s nuclear sites.
Lieberman further claimed that Israel’s main concern is that “Iran is currently fixated on revenge,” making a renewed preemptive strike advantageous for Israel under these circumstances.
He asserted that this time “Iran intends to deliver the first blow” and insisted, “Tehran’s efforts to revive its nuclear program are not hypothetical.”
Expressing his greatest worry about their ballistic missiles, Lieberman said: ”You saw the damage caused when only 26 missiles landed inside Israel; now imagine if it were 260 missiles-what would remain of Israel?”
Earlier, Seyed abbas Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, in an interview with China’s CGTN referred to the 12-day assault by Israel and the U.S., calling it an unprovoked act of aggression by Israel against the islamic Republic of Iran. He emphasized: “We had no means to exercise our right of self-defense initially; thus we defended our country bravely on our own soil. We compelled the attackers to halt their aggression and call for an unconditional ceasefire-which we accepted.”
He stressed: “This ceasefire remains fragile for a clear reason: no ceasefire from that regime (Israel) can be trusted due to its very poor track record. Therefore, we remain fully vigilant and prepared should this ceasefire be broken. Though, this is not our desire; it never was. We did not want this war but were ready for it. We do not want it to continue but again I say we are fully prepared.”
