UNICEF: Gaza Has Become a Graveyard for Children
The regional spokesperson for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) condemned Israel’s blockade preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, warning that the strip has become a graveyard for children.
The regional UNICEF spokesperson warned that Gaza is facing a catastrophic situation and, due to global neglect, has turned into a burial ground for children.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the official said the siege on Gaza and restrictions on humanitarian aid are driving up deaths in the area.
The UN representative emphasized that Israel has rejected numerous requests to allow humanitarian assistance into Gaza, contributing directly to the dire conditions now gripping the region.
