Iran-EU3 Nuclear Talks Scheduled for Friday in Istanbul
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Al Jazeera cited a reporter from the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) as saying that Tehran has accepted Europe’s request for a new round of negotiations with the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
Al Jazeera’s report based on IRIB indicates that signs point to the new round taking place next Friday in Istanbul with the three European countries.
IRIB emphasized that these talks will occur at the deputy foreign minister level and will focus specifically on iran’s nuclear program.
Reportedly, Ismail Baghai, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told an IRIB reporter that this negotiation session will be held in Istanbul with Saeed Iravani Far (Gharibabadi) and Majid Takht-Ravanchi attending.
Since the beginning of President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration (the 14th government), four rounds of talks have been held between iran and these three European members of the JCPOA: New York, Geneva twice (including most recently), and Istanbul.
The negotiations between Iran and Europe are being conducted separately from indirect discussions with the united States.
