Russia Continues Night Attacks on Ukraine; Kyiv Faces Another Sleepless Night
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and CNN,Russia launched another extensive missile strike on Ukraine last night. In response, Kyiv targeted Moscow with drones, throwing the Russian capital’s airports into disarray.
CNN reported that after Russia fired 450 missiles and drones at Ukraine, residents in kyiv and other major cities endured another sleepless night.
The Ukrainian Air Force claimed most Russian projectiles were intercepted; however, 23 struck three diffrent locations. Debris from downed missiles scattered across 12 areas.
Air raid sirens blared throughout Ukraine overnight except in three regions. Local officials reported at least two deaths and 16 injuries within the past 24 hours due to these attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian assaults are always attacks on humanity. He added that a kindergarten caught fire in Kyiv and residential buildings along with other civilian infrastructure sustained damage.
The Ukrainian Air Force said last night’s attack involved cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and advanced “Kinzhal” weapons known for their difficulty to intercept.
Russia has intensified its nighttime assaults on Ukraine over recent weeks. Earlier this month, Moscow carried out its largest drone and missile attack against Kyiv so far.meanwhile, Kyiv is seeking ways to strike deeper inside Russian territory.
This escalation comes as Zelensky announced that his negotiation team invited Russia for next week’s round of talks. Previously, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 17 that Russia is prepared for a third direct negotiation round with Ukraine and awaits proposals from Kyiv regarding scheduling it.
