Erdogan: I Will Not Abandon Jolani
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that Muhammad al-Joulani, the self-declared president of Syria and former leader of the terrorist group Jabhat al-nusra, will not be left alone. He also rejected any division of Syria.
Erdoğan praised Ahmad al-Shara (Muhammad Joulani) for his stance amid conflicts between Syria and the israeli regime, noting that Joulani took a “very positive” step by reaching an understanding wiht the Druze community.
The president claimed that Joulani has taken a firm position regarding recent developments in his country without any retreat.
In remarks to Turkish media, Erdoğan said that the current Syrian government, deploying nearly 2,500 troops, has somewhat expanded its control over Suwayda and southern regions. This follows agreements reached with all Druze factions-except one-during negotiations at Jordan’s Amman Capital to respect a ceasefire.
Erdoğan stated that Israel continues its provocative actions and is opposed to regional stability. He believes that a united Syria would not serve israel’s interests.
He stressed the necessity of clearly communicating to the world that Israel seeks to obstruct stabilization efforts in Syria.
The Turkish president added that Washington now realizes it must have greater oversight over this matter.He warned that Israel uses these conflicts as a pretext for attacks on Syrian territory.
