Palestinian and European Bodies Condemn Action Against Ship “Hanzala
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Information Center, Palestinian organizations and associations in Europe stated that activists aboard the Hanthala are striving to fill the void left by complicity with war criminals.
The crew of Hanthala expressed their ethical and humanitarian commitment to alleviating the suffering of Gaza’s people.
They declared: We condemn the organized and provocative attacks by occupiers against the ship Hanthala and its crew. A flammable chemical was found onboard,which caused injuries.
The activists described what happened on this ship as a war crime, exposing a intentional attempt to intimidate human rights defenders.
the 18-meter vessel Hanthala set sail from Syracuse port in Sicily, italy, heading into Mediterranean waters to challenge Gaza’s blockade. The ship is part of the Freedom Flotilla fleet. It carries 15 activists and Palestine supporters from various countries, including members of the European Parliament and France, volunteer doctors, independent journalists, and grassroots campaigners. The interior is stocked with symbolic humanitarian aid such as medicines, light supplies, and messages of solidarity.
The ship’s name honors Hanthala-the immortal character created by martyr cartoonist Naji al-Ali-a child depicted turning his back on global injustice.Now this symbol stands on a real deck addressing world public opinion: Gaza is not alone.
