China Reacts to Iran’s Nuclear Talks with European Troika

China’s Foreign Ministry‌ spokesperson announced at a Beijing press⁢ conference that a diplomatic approach must be used to⁣ resolve Iran’s nuclear issue.

According ⁢to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and⁢ Yeni Şafak,China responded on Monday to‍ reports of nuclear ⁤talks between Iran and the European Troika (the UK,France,and Germany-the parties involved⁣ with⁣ Tehran in the ​2015 ​agreement) held​ in‌ Istanbul. Beijing emphasized that⁣ it ⁤sees a diplomatic approach as the “only ‍way” to address​ Iran’s nuclear issue.

Guo Jiakon, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at⁤ a press conference in Beijing that Iran’s nuclear matter concerns‍ peace and security in the Middle East ‍(West ⁢Asia) as well as the international non-proliferation regime.

The Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson affirmed: “We have always believed that a diplomatic approach⁣ should be used to resolve Iran’s​ nuclear issue; this is ​the only correct path.”

Guo⁢ Jiakon added: “We ‍call on all parties to move⁤ forward together and contribute toward finding a‍ political solution to Iran’s nuclear ‌matter.”

This comes while Al Jazeera ​TV, quoting Iranian⁤ state television, reported ⁢that Tehran has agreed to hold a ⁣new round of negotiations with Britain, Germany, and France following Europe’s request.

Ismail Baqaieh, spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of‍ Foreign⁤ Affairs, confirmed this news in an interview with IRIB News Agency.He noted signs ⁤indicate that negotiations with the three European countries will take​ place next Friday in istanbul.

Baqaieh ⁢emphasized that these talks will be held ‍at ​the deputy foreign⁤ minister level with participation from Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Kazem Gharibabadi. The discussions will focus ‍specifically on Iran’s nuclear program.

under President Raisi’s⁣ governance (the 14th government),​ four rounds of negotiations have so far ​been held with the three European JCPOA‍ member countries-France, Britain, and Germany-in New York, Geneva twice (including this round), ⁢and istanbul ‌respectively.
