According⁢ to the English​ section of webangah‌ News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Newsweek reported on Monday that ‍Iran and Russia have commenced joint naval exercises in ​the Caspian Sea. this‍ naval drill​ conveys a message of military cooperation between Iranian and Russian forces to the United States, occurring just weeks after ⁣Washington aligned with Israel in attacks ​on Iranian nuclear sites.

The American publication added⁤ that after the 12-day conflict during which U.S. forces ⁤targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities, Tehran has sought to strengthen its military capabilities. ‌Iran is⁢ pursuing support from⁣ russia and China to counter ⁢U.S. military and economic⁢ pressure.

Newsweek also ⁣noted ⁢that earlier, ​Iranian foreign Minister Abbas⁣ Araghchi met with⁤ Russian and Chinese officials on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Association (SCO) security summit. He called for unified opposition to U.S. military actions and deeper strategic coordination among member states.
