UK Sanctions 135 Oil Tankers and Two Russian Companies
The English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters,reported that the UK imposed new sanctions today,targeting what it calls Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
According to this report, London’s latest anti-Russian move targets 135 oil tankers and two Russian companies-Intershipping Services LLC and Litasco Middle East DMCC.
These tankers play a crucial role in Russia’s energy and oil sectors. The UK government claims that as the start of 2024, they have been responsible for transporting $24 billion worth of Moscow’s crude shipments.
british Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that these so-called “shadow fleet” sanctions are further ”breaking apart” Russia and depriving Moscow’s war chest of vital oil revenues.
