Guterres: Hunger Knocks on Every Door in Gaza

According to the English section of webangah News Agency,‍ quoting Mehr News Agency and ‍Anadolu Agency, António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, said member states are failing to meet their international obligations. He added that hunger is knocking on every door in ‌gaza.

Guterres stated that this failure to⁣ fulfill commitments coincides with a period marked by rising geopolitical tensions and conflicts.

Referring​ to ⁤the unprecedented levels of death and ⁣destruction recently seen‌ in West Asia, Guterres avoided directly condemning actions by the⁣ Israeli ​regime. Instead, he said: “It is enough to look at the‌ horrific scenes unfolding in Gaza to understand this situation. Malnutrition there has reached critical levels. hunger is knocking on every door in Gaza. We now see that the humanitarian system⁢ designed to provide aid is gasping its last breaths. ⁤This system has been deprived of essential conditions ​for functioning and stripped of space ‍needed ⁢for⁤ delivering‌ assistance.”

Highlighting ongoing conflicts‍ worldwide, António Guterres warned: “International laws are being trampled⁤ upon while hunger and ⁣displacement reach unprecedented levels. Terrorism,violent extremism,and transnational crime remain persistent ⁣threats to security.”
