Columbia University Retaliates Against Pro-Palestine Students with Expulsions and Suspensions
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Fox News, Columbia University in the united States has disciplined at least 70 students for taking part in pro-Palestine demonstrations.
This decision comes nearly a year after widespread student protests erupted across the U.S. against Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip.
Fox News quoted informed sources stating that these students faced disciplinary actions-including expulsions, suspensions ranging from one to three years, and degree cancellations-for organizing protest tents, refusing to vacate designated areas, and actively supporting movements calling for sanctions on Israel.
Fox News reported that two-thirds of these punished students have been expelled or suspended. University officials told this outlet that the crackdown aims to maintain order. However, critics view it as an attempt to suppress freedom of speech and Palestinian advocacy.
