Amnesty International: Gaza Faces Imminent Mass Famine

Amnesty International warns ⁤that Gaza faces mass famine as⁤ occupiers ⁢block aid, driving the region toward catastrophe.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Facts Center, Amnesty International has⁣ warned that ⁣Palestinians in Gaza are confronted with mass famine. the organization⁢ stressed the urgent need for a ‍permanent ceasefire and unrestricted entry and distribution of humanitarian aid.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Amnesty International accused the occupying regime ‍of blocking aid deliveries, bombing shelters, and ‍using⁣ food, water, and medicine as‌ weapons ‌of⁢ war-actions pushing Gaza ‌toward disaster.

Earlier, more than 100 international relief organizations issued an urgent⁤ statement demanding the reopening of border crossings to allow life-saving assistance into Gaza.

The ⁤Norwegian Refugee Council also reported that its‌ emergency supplies in Gaza have ‌been wholly depleted. Some staff‌ members are reportedly suffering ⁤severe⁣ hunger. ⁤the group directly blamed Israel for paralyzing all humanitarian operations.

The Gaza ministry of Health has‍ confirmed that since October 2023, at least 101 people have died from starvation and malnutrition-including 80 ⁢children. ‍In just the past ‍24‌ hours ⁢alone, 15 Palestinians have died from these causes, ⁢four of them children.Meanwhile, the media office of ⁤the Gazan government⁢ warned that after more than 140 days with crossings sealed ⁤shut, the territory ‍is now on the brink of ⁢”mass death.”

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned⁤ Israeli actions in Gaza as unprecedented crimes surpassing all fascist and Nazi atrocities in history.

Their statement detailed how ongoing systematic starvation policies combined with widespread bombings; forced displacement;⁤ destruction of medical facilities and services; and severe drinking water shortages constitute full-scale war crimes endangering over ⁤two million Palestinians’ lives.

The Front compared killing starving civilians during attempts ⁣to receive food aid ⁣to scenes ‌from nazi death camps. It further emphasized U.S.direct complicity‍ through support⁣ for ‌these procedures while blocking humanitarian access.

The declaration‌ described global silence and incapacity⁢ to restrain israeli actions as ‍a blatant betrayal of human values: allowing an entire population’s gradual death while offering only ineffective statements amounts ⁢to tacit complicity⁢ in this crime.

it called on world nations not ⁣to remain silent before these atrocities but hold ‍accountable those involved-whether directly ⁣or indirectly-in perpetrating them. The movement warned that Palestinian society will never forgive silence or spectatorship amid ⁢genocide and starvation-and history ⁢will stand witness to this unprecedented crime.
