5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southwest of Salalah, Oman
Omani sources have reported an earthquake occurring 235 kilometers southwest of the city of Salalah in this Gulf Cooperation Council member country.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Khaleej Online, news outlets reported a 5.3-magnitude earthquake 235 kilometers from Salalah, Oman.
The Sultan Qaboos University Seismology Center confirmed an earthquake in the Arabian Sea with a magnitude of 5.3. The tremor occurred southwest of Salalah at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level.
No reports have yet emerged regarding any impact on the Sultanate of Oman from this earthquake.
