Third Round of Russia-Ukraine Talks Held in Istanbul
The English section of webangah News Agency quoted Mehr News Agency citing Sputnik that a senior official from turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Wednesday, that the Turkish Foreign Minister, the head of intelligence, and the Chief of General Staff will attend the Russia-Ukraine negotiations.
According to this source, the talks are set to begin shortly at Çırağan Palace in Istanbul, where the previous round between Russia and Ukraine was held.
The third round of peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia will take place around 19:00 local time (Turkey) today at Çırağan Palace in Istanbul.
Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, recently confirmed that this third round will proceed as planned.
Peskov stated that during this round, both sides woudl discuss a draft memorandum exchanged previously in their last meeting.
The second direct talks between Russia and Ukraine were held earlier this June in Istanbul.
In those talks, both parties exchanged a draft memorandum outlining their positions on various aspects of the conflict. Moscow and Kyiv also agreed on exchanging all prisoners who are critically ill or under 25 years old.
