Rob Malley: Military Option Against Iran Was a Mistake; Tehran Remains Resilient
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and NBC Television, Rob Malley, former U.S. special Envoy for iran, commented on the U.S. and Israeli actions against Iran: “I think the military option was a mistake for many reasons. It does not solve the problem. It leads to various uncertainties and unpredictable outcomes that I believe we will have to live with not only in days and weeks but also months and years ahead.”
Malley continued: “If I were Iran’s supreme leader, over the past few years I could imagine telling myself that I need a nuclear bomb… We are talking about a country that truly stands on its own feet.”
He added: “The ballistic missile program-I meen they have always prioritized it in Iran. So Tehran considers it among its national security objectives. Whether there are sanctions or not, they continue this effort. israel is displeased by the Iranian perspective of expanding international economic ties with Europe and perhaps even with the United states.”
