Fidan: Moscow-Kyiv Talks Aim to Achieve Ceasefire
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik News, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated today at the opening of the talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul that Turkey is ready to fulfill it’s responsibilities according to agreements reached by both parties.
The Turkish foreign minister added that Ankara welcomes international recognition of the importance assigned to outcomes from the previous two rounds of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that Turkey has the capacity to monitor any agreed ceasefire in Ukraine and can also participate in prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine.
He underscored that achieving a ceasefire remains the ultimate goal of these talks.
