Moscow: No Significant Progress Expected in Third Round of Negotiations with Ukraine
dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, commenting on the third round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, said Moscow did not anticipate substantial breakthroughs during this stage of negotiations, according to webangah News Agency, citing TASS.
Peskov referred to the possibility of a high-level meeting between russia and Ukraine,stating that such a meeting would be feasible only after basic work has been completed.
He added that discussions on humanitarian issues during the negotiations and Russia’s proposal to establish three working groups are positive developments.
The Russian diplomat emphasized that “the Russian military is doing everything possible to create buffer zones along the border with Ukraine.”
regarding Kyiv’s persistent requests for weapons,he remarked that “Kyiv is forced to continuously beg for arms from the West.”
Addressing speculation about a potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President Donald Trump in China, Peskov stressed that ”there has been no concrete talk about a possible Putin-Trump meeting in China, and the Kremlin is not informed about any plans for the US president’s trip there.”
He also noted that contact between Moscow and Washington can be arranged quickly if necessary.
