Dozens of British MPs Call for Recognition of the State of Palestine
Dozens of British MPs have signed a letter urging the Prime Minister to recognize the state of Palestine.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Ma’an, 125 members of the UK Parliament signed a joint letter calling on the Prime Minister to officially recognize Palestine as a state.
The letter states that recognition by the UK would carry significant weight, given Britain’s historical role in issuing the Balfour Declaration.
Yesterday, after French President Emmanuel Macron announced a date for recognizing Palestine, the British prime Minister issued an unprecedented statement condemning conditions in Gaza as unjustifiable.He also affirmed that Palestine is an undeniable right of its people.
