Fidan to Araghchi: Turkey Is Your Home
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Turkish Foreign minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with NTV that during the negotiations held in Istanbul between Iran and three European countries (the United Kingdom, France, and Germany)-parties to the 2015 nuclear deal known as the JCPOA-the sides agreed to continue contacts alongside indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran.
Fidan added that when Seyed Abbas Araqchi informed him that Tehran had chosen Istanbul as the venue for the meeting, he told Iran’s foreign minister: “This (Turkey) is your home.You can resolve your matters wherever you wish-whether in Istanbul or another city-with any role you want to play under different conditions.”
Addressing Iran’s foreign minister, Hakan Fidan said: “This is a arduous matter. We will do everything we can from here.”
Responding to a question about the possibility of repeated Israeli aggression against Iran, he said: ”We must never say no. We hope it never happens; however, there is always a possibility. I don’t think Iran would carry out an attack without being attacked first.”
