Macron: Palestine Must Be Demilitarized and Recognize Israel
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, French President Emmanuel Macron said he discussed ways to advance a two-state solution and the unacceptable humanitarian crisis in Gaza with his Turkish and Egyptian counterparts, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Macron added that all necesary measures must be taken to ensure the security of both Palestinians and Israelis. he said the New York conference on July 28-29 shoudl launch a new path toward a permanent solution based on two states.
He emphasized, “We cannot accept children starving in Gaza.I will recognize the Palestinian government at next September’s United Nations general Assembly.”
Macron stressed that a ceasefire must be implemented, all prisoners freed, urgent aid allowed into Gaza, and Hamas disarmed. he described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as unacceptable, warning of widespread famine and displacement threatening its residents.
The president also stated that establishing a demilitarized Palestinian state recognizing Israel is the route to peace. France is working to encourage othre countries to join in recognizing the Palestinian government.
