Zamir: I Will Not Extend Israel Reservists’ Deployment in Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Ma’an, Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israeli military, pledged not to prolong the deployment period for reserve troops in the Gaza Strip.
This decision comes amid a protracted war in Gaza and growing exhaustion among Israeli soldiers stationed there after nearly two years.
Zamir had previously promised that reserve forces woudl not serve more then 74 days per year.
During Israeli military meetings, there was emphasis on increasing reserve troop deployment in Gaza; however, Zamir stated that such measures are not feasible.
Earlier field assessments by Zamir revealed how considerably morale among Israeli soldiers in this strip has deteriorated.
