Apocalyptic Scenes Unfold in Turkey; 2,000 Evacuated + Video
Widespread wildfires in Turkey’s forested areas have forced the evacuation of 2,000 residents.
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Al-Youm, Turkish authorities announced that at least 2,000 people have been evacuated following massive forest fires in the country.
The fires intensified Saturday night on the hills surrounding Bursa, located in northwestern Turkey, due to strong winds. These conditions created a severe emergency in the area.
Currently,over 1,100 firefighters are deployed to control the blaze.The main highway connecting Bursa to ankara has been closed as a precautionary measure.
A local representative described the current situation in Bursa as catastrophic. Since late June, Turkey has experienced a surge in forest fires driven by an ongoing heatwave.
