The supreme Judicial Council issued a statement saying it hosted a meeting attended by Judge Faiq Zaidan, head of the Supreme Judicial Council; deputies of the Federal Court of Cassation; Basim al-Badri, head of the Accountability and Justice Commission; and several commission members.
The meeting reviewed measures taken by the Accountability and Justice Commission regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Participants agreed to strictly enforce the Accountability and Justice Commission law to bar those connected with the dissolved Ba’ath Party from entering parliament.
They also agreed that commission measures must be clear, ensuring no misuse occurs beyond what is stipulated in law.
